Hi, I’m John
Humourist & Short Story Writer
In two of his prior careers as a geologist and financial analyst, John wrote many boring technical reports. In this new career as a writer, he is taking many creative writing classes, with a focus on humour and non-fiction prose.
Although based in Calgary, on Treaty 7 territory, he and his family have spent many summers on the shores of the Salish Sea and traveling under both sail and power. John loves long motorcycle trips, especially to the North, including the Yukon and Alaska. He and his wife of 36 years, Lisa (also a geologist), love spending time in the Rockies and have two grown children. They share their home with two beagles, the adorable sisters, Joey and Finley.
